Act as the technical and artistic reference for the team, bridging the macro vision of the Environment Supervisor with daily execution.
Provide ongoing guidance and advice to environment and setdress artists, ensuring that complex environments meet quality standards, scale and performance requirements.
Assign tasks strategically based on artist strengths, track team progress, and maintain production tracking tools (Jira, ShotGrid, Confluence).
Step in to support the Environment Supervisor, maintain the project's artistic direction, and lead the department in their absence.
Diagnose and resolve complex technical or creative bottlenecks to maintain pipeline flow.
Establish and refine department workflows, style guides, and optimization protocols.
Collaborate closely with downstream departments (Layout, Animation, LookDev, Lighting) to ensure seamless asset integration.
4–5 years of experience as a Set Dressing and Environment Artist in 3D animation or VFX, with proven experience in a Senior or leadership role (Lead, Mentor, Technical Lead).
Outstanding portfolio showcasing technical and artistic mastery in building, dressing, and optimizing complex 3D worlds.
Advanced expertise in Houdini, Maya, Substance Painter/Designer, rendering engines, and resource management. With a special focus on USD and Solaris.
Deep understanding of visual composition, environmental storytelling, scale, lighting, and color to translate 2D concepts into functional 3D environments.
Strong leadership profile: empathetic, highly organized, decisive, proactive, dynamic, and resilient under pressure with a growth mindset.
Strong understanding of downstream pipeline stages.
Advanced English is required (additional languages are a plus).
